Node types
This section includes a summary table with the types of internal nodes included in the ENP installation that this documentation belongs to. This list can change from customer to customer, since different customers can have built-in or ad-hoc developed node types that code the particular characteristics of the equipment installed in their networks.

| ZGenericAbstractNode | Abstract node | This node represents a generic node, not intended for regular designs. Its purpose is to serve as a base node for topology design (with connectivity/bi-connectivity considerations). This node can only host Virtual Transport connections. |
| ZIpAndOtnNode | Full IP & OTN node | A node with full IP routing and OTN capabilities. The interest of this node is mostly for testing purposes, since these functionalities are typically present in different nodes. |
| ZIpRouterEthernetCnx | IP Router (Ethernet ports) | An IP router with Ethernet ports. |
| ZIpRouterGreyOchCnx | IP Router (OTU ports) | An IP router with OTU ports. |

| ZOpticalMuxDemux | Optical mux/demux [fixed grid] | A passive optical multiplexer and demultiplexer for fixed grid. |
| ZOpticalMuxDemuxOcgGrid | Optical mux/demux [fixed non-contiguous grid] | A passive optical multiplexer and demultiplexer for a fixed non-contiguous optical grid, based on the Optical Channel Group (OCG) grid arrangements, as found in some Infinera equipment. |
| ZOpticalTransponderMultiLineSideOtu | Optical Transponder [Multi line-side OTUs] | An optical transponder with OTU and Ethernet client side ports, capable of creating one or more bidirectional line-side OTU/OCh of user-configurable rates, each consuming a number of carriers. The number of line-side OTUs that can be created is limited by the total number of carriers available. |
