Open ENP network model
This section describes the network model of ENP network planner, i.e. the different elements that can be part of a network in the ENP tool.
This is a good starting point to understand how network elements like IP links, ports, tunnels, nodes, ODUs, etc. are represented in ENP tool. The model is rich, and is able to reflect the large majority of possible settings and configurations that we can find in the IP/MPLS networks, and multiple transport technologies. The visualization, analysis, dimensioning and design tools of ENP are applied over networks represented in this model.
The following subsections elaborate on this:
- Overall model description (start here!). This section includes the key concepts of the network model.
- IP/MPLS network elements. This section gives summary information of the elements related to IP/MPLS networks.
- Optical Transport Network (OTN) elements. This section gives summary information of the elements related to optical networks.
- Node types.. This section gives summary information of the types of internal nodes included in the installed ENP software.
